And a Few
Comments
"When I was first pregnant I had morning sickness and backache,
the sickness eventually passed - but not the backache - until I
visited a McTimoney chiropractor. Now I am backache free and enjoying
my pregnancy."
"My first pregnancy
was great, trouble free. My second a very different story. The backache
I experienced from the outset often led me to tears, until a friend
suggested a local McTimoney chiropractor, who was my saving grace.
My baby is now 14 weeks old and my regular McTimoney treatments
keep me fit to look after my two youngsters."
"I have had
McTimoney chiropractic check-ups since I was 18 years old. When
I became pregnant and started to suffer with backache, I was told
it was a normal part of pregnancy. I called my family chiropractor
who has put my mind and back at ease."
Case Studies
A
mother arrived in a state of near collapse and in floods of tears
at a McTimoney clinic, carrying her 10-day-old daughter. Three days
later the chiropractor received a card from her saying 'I can never
thank you enough for what you did for me, it was like a miracle.
I still get a little weepy, no doubt due to the lack of sleep, but
I no longer feel "strange" - it's wonderful.'
Mrs C
This mother in
full time employment came for chiropractic treatment when five months
pregnant, experiencing low back and neck pain, her midwife assured
her this was normal in pregnancy but as other members of her family
had received chiropractic care, she decided to visit a chiropractor.
Assessment revealed misalignment of the pelvic girdle and in the cervical
spine (neck) and she agreed to receive McTimoney chiropractic treatment.
The chiropractor also explained about the postural changes that occur
during pregnancy and advice was also given regarding the correct position
of computer equipment used by the patient. This was particularly important,
as the patient was working long hours sitting at a desk.
Mrs C reported much improvement after the first treatment and received
regular monthly treatment up to the last two weeks before the birth
of her baby.
Mrs C had a normal delivery of a healthy baby girl. It is advisable
for both mother and baby to have chiropractic treatment within six
weeks of the birth. This Mrs C and baby did, and they both continue
to have regular check-ups at intervals recommended by their chiropractor.
