What
can Chiropractic help?
Reduced mobility,
stiffness, depression, and a general feeling of ill health are just
some of the problems you may experience as your body gets older.
These problems may be the direct results of very specific physical
conditions such as arthritis, the result of falls and accidents,
poor circulation, or simply the general results of wear and tear.
Many older people
find that chiropractic treatment helps them maintain their mobility
as well as retain their health and wellbeing. The gentle nature
of McTimoney Chiropractic makes it particularly suitable at this
time in life - even if you suffer from osteoporosis.
| By
working with your body to re-align the skeleton and stimulate
the nervous system, the range of conditions that can be helped
is extensive as the body finds its natural balance once again.
These include back, neck and joint pain, migraines and headaches,
as well as helping to alleviate the pain and problems caused
by the following: |
|
- Arthritis
- osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis
- Poor circulation
- particularly in the legs, feet, and hands
- The aftereffects
of operations, accidents, falls, and bumps
- Dental
and denture associated pain
- General
symptoms of declining health, including poor mobility
Although Chiropractic
cannot reverse the effects of arthritis or degenerative diseases,
by keeping the body aligned, treatment can help to reduce further
damage.

"Before I had chiropractic treatment to my neck and shoulder,
I could not lie down in bed, then after treatments every month
for about 15 months I only have a little twinge sometimes, it’s
great to be able to put my head on a pillow and have a good
night's sleep" |

Case Study
An active 76 year-old widow slipped when standing on a chair trying
to open a jammed window in the bathroom. She fell backwards across
the edge of the bath. When she came for McTimoney treatment, some
six months after the accident, she was in continual, very severe pain
and almost unable to walk. She was considering using a wheelchair.
Chiropractic examination showed a right-hand curve in her middle and
low back, which in the six months had become fairly immovable with
adhesions and muscle spasm. Progress was slow at first, but after
two months she was able to move more freely. A month later this delightful
elderly lady, whose favourite activity was ballroom dancing, came
in to say she had done two waltzes and a fox-trot! In all over a period
of nearly four months and 23 treatments, she made a full recovery.
